Yeah.....that one hurt. This is my 21st season as a pirate fan, and this one hurts as bad as all the others. But, they're my pirates and I love 'em.
You always rationalize after a loss. So here goes mine....we had no business dreaming of BCS busting this year. The next natural/realistic step for our program is to take the C-USA title. So, this loss does nothing to hurt that goal. Perhaps it will actually help by removing some distractions and the blinding spotlight on a team only four seasons removed from winning just two games.
I believe in Holtz. And, I believe we will get better this year and take another step toward improving our program. Let's win the conference title. Holland's going to get us into a BCS conference, I checked with God, it's gonna happen. Taking care of business in our conference (like we were supposed to have all those years ago)won't hurt.
Btw, rationalizations are more important to human beings than sex.....when was the last time you went a couple of weeks without a rationalization.....?
