State of the Program - for reals

So, this football season is not quite turning out like I had hoped and I am pretty worried about the state of the program. I think that Coach Ruff is an awesome guy who I am pulling for to get it going right in season 3, but we look to be trending down.

My blog as my current thoughts but I am interested in hearing your thoughts on the state of the program heading into 2012. What say you gentlemen (please give it real thought Robb)?

Sadly, contemplating the state of the program does not require "real thought." ECU is a mediocre program with an occasional blip into relevance. My preseason prediction is looking pretty good right now, even if we win out.

I am neither sad nor disappointed that the Big East didn't want us, and if we ever do become a winner like Boise State, it will only make me feel certain that we finally installed a coaching staff that is better at cheating than we've ever had before. Hopefully no young boys in need of help will be raped along the way while the coaches and athletic department looks the other way.

The NCAA is a front for a vast scheme that defrauds the "student"-athletes while avoiding paying taxes on what is nothing more than a billion-dollar BUSINESS.

But I digress. State of the program? Pretty much the state it's always been in and probably will be in for many more years. East Carolina is in a tough position and that never seems to change. Even if we get a coach who is great at cheating, he'll leave for a better program. This is probably true of any school in North Carolina. Look at what Mack Brown has done since he left UNC.

I prefer them to be good at football than bad at football but I have resigned myself to the reality and I can no longer muster any disguts for anything other than how grossly over-important college athletics have become in this country and I am very glad we still have this blog where I can say such things.

I will probably have another rant similar to this in a few years, having forgotten that I left this entirely inappropriate tirade in the comments section of Ron's post.

Peace be with you.

Really this article is very interesting and I am totally agree with you. Some things are very important to say but it depends on how you want to say them. Carolina is true that this is not right and there are definitely changes that are urgent and should not expect.
