Am I the last person to learn that just-fired Notre Dame coach Tyrone Willingham was born in Kinston? And played high school ball in Jacksonville?
If he'd be interested in the job, he's the best candidate out there. Notre Dame screwed up worse than Florida firing him.

When we were all out at the Liberty Bowl that year, that was the whole reason I was sent. I did a huge feature on Willingham for the Jacksonville Daily News.
I agree with Robb that he would be an outstanding...outstanding hire if ECU could get him. I would bet though that given his talents, he will likely end up at Washington, Florida, or back at Stanford.
Amazing man with unquestionable work ethic and integrity. Notre Dame really blew it for not recognizing that it is there conference affiliation (lack thereof) and their unyielding academic requirements that have lead to the faltering of their program.
