Pirates Schedule

Here's an interesting point from the Kinston Free-Press' Davis Fisher about how important the Southern Miss game is:
If the Pirates can upset the Golden Eagles on Saturday, they should be 3-0 going into the Memphis game and even in the worst case, ECU can probably be 4-1 after the Central Florida game with three conference games remaining. ...

Out of 117 Division I members, the Pirates' remaining schedule is ranked 100th.

The record of the Pirates final eight opponents is 5-15. The only opponent of the final eight entering Saturday's games with a winning mark is Alabama-Birmingham at 2-1. Southern Miss is 1-1 and Tulsa is 2-2.

I've been crunching numbers and looking at the schedule all week, to see just what it's gonna take to get ECU into a bowl game. I think it's a definite possibility. Even if they don't win the East Division, they could still make a trip to the New Orleans bowl...and as anemic as the Sun Belt looks this year, it could very easily be a 'W' for the Pirates.
