Ok, so we're 1-0 for the first time since we beat Duke in their home opener 38 to nothing back in 2000. I like it. I'm excited. We've already won one of the games we were projected to lose. I swear, reading the game recap, I didn't sense I was reading about a typical ECU team. The game was never as close as the final score implied. We should all be encouraged by the play of our QB and the defense. Big D only gave up 10 points, and they stopped the Dukies cold on their last drive. This has not been a trait of recent Pirate teams. We're not playing USC in a couple of weeks, we're playing another weak ACC team. I want another win!
Matt and I were on the phone earlier and inevitably the talk turned to how many wins in a row we'd have to have in order to break into the top 25. I know, it's stupid, but God help me, I love thinking about it. I'd say we'll have to be 4-0 for anyone to even mention us as a possible bowl team. Of course, if we were fortunate enough to secure a four and oh record, we'de still be staring at six remaining conference games, which is a long row to hoe.
Bottom line, I'm excited boys....I've tasted the sweet purple and golden nectar of victory....mmmmmmmmmmmm, nectar, it comes but once a year, then the government takes it away.....
Anyway, I want more......Let's go Pirates!! All hail Sensei Holtz!!!!!

I can't believe you mentioned our Top-25 talk. It's true, but quite embarrassing.
For the record, a team with the recent history of East Carolina would probably have to go 7-0 before being ranked.
I think 7-0 will be needed as well.
