Future Football Schedules
Check out these games of the future. I had no idea we were playing Viriginia Tech for the next 8 years. Looking forward to games also against Virginia, NC State, and W. Virginia. Amazing what one victory over Duke can do for your swagger.
I remember beating Va. Tech. I also remember Clayton Driver making ESPN's top plays with diving catch in the end zone to beat them. Va. Tech wasn't much back then. I still fail to see why we couldn't have become a power just like they did.
Not getting into the Big East when Virginia Tech and West Virginia did was the reason. Logan's penchant for beating a top 10 team only to lose to a bottom 10 team didn't help, but it was being left out of the Big East expansion that killed ECU.
Also, the fact that the UNC-system has long put the screws to ECU didn't help either.
There is a DIRECT correlation between Va Tech's joining the Big East and the new disparity between them and ECU since then. Ohhhh, what could have been, had we gotten in.
Don't buy the Big East argument. Look at Marshall. If Logan wouldn't have folded every year and we had strung together top 15 season after top 15, it wouldn't have mattered.

Oh, wait ... I know why. Steve Logan.
