Betting line

I'm surpised that we're favored against Central Florida (damned if I'll call them UCF). By 2 1/2 points, no less. Can the Pirates possibly continue their streak against the spread?

Ron doesn't like the spread and neither do I -- but I'm betting it anyway.

If Skip decides to go 'Hawaii' on our a$$es and commits to the pass early, I see no reason not to go with the spread. Central Florida's pass defense has been suspect this year.

I am wary of this Central Florida team. Yes we own them at 4-0 all time, but they are a very balanced team with a lot of momentum on their side winning 4-of-5 games coming in, including a blowout beating of the same Memphis team that just dumped us.

Additionally, though they are a running team, they are still averaging 244 ypg passing, good for 36th in land. We suck against the run.

Moreover, their defense is very opportunistic and they have come up with 10 INTs in the last 5 games.

That said, at home we SHOULD win this game. Would it surprise me if we won by 2 TDs...no. But, I still am wary of this game.
