Good column from Denny O'Brien over at Bonesville. Here's a good point:
[O]utside of Rice, Navy might be the least talented team on the gauntlet.

That's not too comforting considering the Midshipmen finished 2005 with an 8-4 mark that included a blowout victory over Colorado State in the Poinsettia Bowl. It certainly isn't what you consider the ideal opponent for a season opener on the road.

Not that anyone else on the schedule makes for better fit.
Yeah, I gotta admit I earmarked Navy as a guaranteed "W" on the schedule. Forgot to check their record last year.

O'Brien argues that the Pirates could be much improved this year ... and still finish 4-8.

We'll learn all we need to at the Navy game (which I will be at with Mr. Todd and my boy Vinny).

If we beat Navy, I think we can win 8 games. They are a hell of team and Paul Johnson is probably one of the top 3 coaches in football.

Cautiously optimistic for 2006.
