[O]utside of Rice, Navy might be the least talented team on the gauntlet.Yeah, I gotta admit I earmarked Navy as a guaranteed "W" on the schedule. Forgot to check their record last year.
That's not too comforting considering the Midshipmen finished 2005 with an 8-4 mark that included a blowout victory over Colorado State in the Poinsettia Bowl. It certainly isn't what you consider the ideal opponent for a season opener on the road.
Not that anyone else on the schedule makes for better fit.
O'Brien argues that the Pirates could be much improved this year ... and still finish 4-8.

We'll learn all we need to at the Navy game (which I will be at with Mr. Todd and my boy Vinny).
If we beat Navy, I think we can win 8 games. They are a hell of team and Paul Johnson is probably one of the top 3 coaches in football.
Cautiously optimistic for 2006.
