C-USA positives

Good Bonesville column from Denny O'Brien on the successes of C-USA. He notes that keeping the Liberty Bowl pact is a huge win for the program. O'Brien also argues that the new teams are rich in history and a few (UTEP, UCF) have good coaches with promising futures. I'm certainly impressed with the amount of bowl deals we have (5 this year, counting an alternating-year deal with the Hawaii bowl.)

O'Brien's usually pretty good about not wearing the purple-colored glasses all the time, so I'll take this column on face-value.

Yeah...I guess keeping the Liberty Bowl over the Big East was a good thing, but overall, Banowsky handled the realignments of conferences like a 15-year old boy handles his beef on debut night with the twon HO. He fumbled, bumbled, and ended up with a mess all over himself while the HO headed for the door.

Had he been more concerned with the conference future than moving the league headquarters to his backyard, we might have a CUSA that included WVU, Syracuse, and Pitt. So, I score him average at best!
